The Amarillo area and Texas Panhandle have a growing LoRa mesh network running both Meshtastic and MeshCore on the 915 MHz ISM band — no license required, no cell towers needed, no internet necessary. Just radios talking to radios.

The most active and mature network in the Amarillo area. Open-source LoRa mesh firmware with broad device support, great for group messaging and GPS tracking.

Get a Radio
Pick up a LoRa radio for as little as $35. No license required — these operate on the 915 MHz ISM band, open to everyone.
Flash & Configure
Install Meshtastic or MeshCore firmware, pair with your phone over Bluetooth, and apply the local channel settings.
Start Meshing
Send a message on the public channel and introduce yourself. Your radio relays messages for others, and theirs relay for you.
